Harriette Hudson is a student at the University of Reading, she was awarded the first John Miles Scholarship in 2022. Clifton Agency invited Harriette to complete a two-week internship prior to commencing her second year of her degree.
Harriette commented:
“I have just completed two weeks experience working at Clifton Agency, where I have been able to apply my first year studies into real life commercial agency practice. My roles included attending team meetings and preparing notes; writing brochures for upcoming investment sales in Notting Hill (watch this space); reading leases, creating proforma’s, searching for comparable evidence, drafting Heads of Terms and offer letters. I also prepared client research and presented my findings to the team.
However, it wasn’t all work, arguably the true highlight of this week was Clifton’s Summer Social. Starting off at Le Relais de Venise L'Entrecote in Marylebone for endless steak, frites and Jim’s endless red wine. Then moving on, rather more slowly now, to Swingers, where I managed by true skill (pure luck) to score a hole in one. Ultimately, then ending up at Nest’s rooftop bar with a prime view of London in Summer - obscured completely by the fog/rain. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Clifton Agency, I worked with some wonderful people who made me feel at home as soon as I arrived. Despite potentially being in the deep end, I never felt it - everyone was willing to devote their time and insight to help me. This is what has proved invaluable, learning one-on-one, completing actual ‘real-life work’ within a city as dynamic and opportunistic as London. Not only has this given my studies greater depth, it has given me greater insight into myself, what I want to do and what the real estate industry has to offer.
